If you are about to break up with a woman, and you suspect that her
elevator does not go all the way to the top floor, then perhaps it’s
best to inform her of the breakup via text messaging.
Prosecutors have charged a Minnesota woman for beating her boyfriend
to death, taping his body up in plastic and hiding it in a freezer
because he was trying to break up with her.
Jetaun Wheeler, 29, is charged with second-degree murder in the killing of her late boyfriend, 58, at their Shorewood home in Minneapolis. Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
According to CBS News, relatives of the murdered man expected him to return to his Chicago hometown. When he failed to do so and was not answering the phone, the relatives went to the Minneapolis home looking for him. Wheeler swore to them that he had already returned to Chicago.
That’s when relatives notified authorities.
Wheeler tried to give investigators the same story she gave to the deceased man’s relatives, but to no avail. Detectives say when they searched the couple’s house Aug. 21, they found bloody carpet under Wheeler’s mattress.
Blood spatter led them to the garage where they found the body in the freezer. An autopsy report revealed multiple blunt trauma to the head and neck and multiple lacerations on the eyes and hands, which the medical examiner attributes to defensive wounds as he tried to fight Wheeler off in a futile attempt to escape
When Wheeler was being arrested, investigators noted that her three children, aged 10, 8 and 7 have disappeared. They believe she hid the children so that they won’t be taken into custody.
If Wheeler is convicted, she faces 40 years in prison.
